This flight will also put you on the runway at Rattlesnake Gulch.

Rattesnake Gulch is located in Baca County, Colorado. The landing strip is a single dirt runway 90-27. There is now an NDB for locating the runway.
Baca County was created by the Colorado legislature on April 16, 1889, out of the eastern portions of Las Animas County. Baca County was named in honor of pioneer and Colorado territorial legislator Felipe Baca. According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 2,557.09 square miles, of which 2,555.72 square miles (or 99.95%) is land and 1.37 square miles (or 0.05%) is water. The county seat is Springfield. Rattlesnake Gulch was thriving farming and mining
community at the time. A drought that began in 1900 forced a lot of the residents to move out of the town. Some went to Springfield and others to cities farther
north. By 1920 the town was completely empty except for local wildlife. There are several streets in the town, one main road and a railroad track that ran from
East to West.
